Preparing for His Return!

Put a finger down if you’ve ever been jolted awake by the chorus of a preacher in the early hours of the morning, chanting “He’s coming back again, Jesus is coming back again…”
Good to know we all have a finger down.

On Sunday, Pastor Olumide Diya walked us through a critical reminder: Jesus is coming back again, and there are signs to tell that it’s soon. How prepared are you?

This life is a performance, and we’re often so caught up in the song and dance of it that we lose sight of what matters most – our eventual abode. We get sidetracked by the lights and the cameras, disguised as our jobs, careers, ambitions and goals, and we forget to prepare for what comes after. These things are the add-ons, the elements in the main design. The main design is that we share the Gospel with all men in preparation for the return of Jesus.

And how do we stay in the main design?
We focus on God (Rev. 10:1-2). These add-ons may disguise themselves as the main purpose of our existence on earth. We need  to fix our gaze to the most important thing – Christ’s return. He’s the most important of all that matters. In staying focused, we need to exercise patience and trust God to act on the very words off His lips (Rev. 10:3-7). He’s assured us of His return, it’s only right that we trust that He’ll do just that. And in trusting, we fill ourselves with His words (Rev. 10:8-11). They are yes and amen. They don’t return to Him void. These words enable us to share the Gospel with others and withstand evil days.

Men can only come to Him if they are of Him, and there’s nothing to prepare for if they are not of Him. You know men who need Him, share the word with them. And when the lights seem blinding, remember His promise to return and reroute your focus to Him.

Your friend deserves this reminder. Share it with one or ten. It’s how you prepare.
