How many times have you had to take medication for a headache or body pains? Right. You see, that’s one of the beautiful things about the human body; its ability to manage sicknesses. Sometimes, renewing and repairing before the need of external intervention.
And just like your body, your spirit and soul has the ability to do the same.
As Reverend Dr. Tunji Bamgbose retires this week, we understand that our body, as a church, has been provided all that we need for living. In us is the ability to be well and strong, and we choose to stay so.
2 Peter 1:3-4:
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”
Just like it’s in your body’s nature to restore and repair, you have God’s nature woven into your DNA. It’s in you to be well. It’s in you to be strong. You understand that the key to spiritual growth and strength is sharing in the divine nature.
So, in the time of sorrow, in the time of affliction, stay strong. Add to your faith, character and virtue. Don’t let anything trigger uncontrollable anger in you. Sit down together with the church and bask in the togetherness. Let your lips prophesy grace to those who hear you speak. Don’t forget what has been given to you from your foundation. Remember the fruits of the Spirit. Say no to sin and yes to righteousness. Be godly, and whatever you do, do as unto Christ in whom you stand strong.
