The devil does not doubt the things God can do; he just works really hard to alter God’s words to us. He does this by planting seeds of doubt, anxiety and fear in the hearts of men, especially when we are in need.
Although the devil may try, we key into the truth that we serve a living God who meets us at the point of our needs.
But the question is, do we meet Him there, too?
Pastor Olumide Diya broke down 1Kings 17:1-16 in service during the sermon on Sunday. He led us to understand how we can position ourselves for God’s provision, sharing these as the things to do:
- Cherish the presence of God. Fellowship with the brethren and fellowship personally with God.
- Obey God’s instructions. Be sensitive to God’s words. Pay attention when He speaks (Psalms 91:1), and obey His instructions.
- Do not be moved by momentary scarcity. There’s a time for everything. A time of scarcity might come, but don’t fret. God is the one who’s in charge of your life, not the state of the economy. You’re in God’s economic Kingdom.
- Do not despise the supplier of God’s provision (Zechariah 4:10). God can use any man to meet your needs — old, young, married or widowed — just have an open heart.
- Release that which is in your hand. It is good to receive, but much better to give.
- Believe God’s word. Even the devil knows that God’s word is true. You who are created in His image and likeness should not be the one in doubt.
God’s provision is ever-present. Are you then positioned for it?

Èṣù kì í ṣe pé ó ń ṣiyèméjì nípa ohun tí Ọlọ́run lè ṣe; ohun tí ó ń ṣe ni pé ó máa ń ṣiṣẹ́ takuntakun láti yí ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run sí wa padà. Ó ń ṣe èyí nípa fífi irúgbìn iyèméjì, àifarabale àti ìbẹ̀rù sínú ọkàn àwọn ènìyàn, pàápàá jùlọ nígbà tí a bá wà nínú àìní tàbí tí a bá nílò ìrànlọ́wọ́.
Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé Èṣù lè gbìyànjú, a dúró lórí òtítọ́ pé a ń sin Ọlọ́run alààyè, ẹni tí ó máa ń pàdé wa ní ibi tí a ti nílò Rẹ̀, tí ó sì ń pèsè ohun tí a nílò ní àkókò tó yẹ.
Ṣùgbọ́n ìbéèrè náà ni pé, ṣé àwa náà ń pàdé Rẹ̀ níbẹ̀?
Ní ìjọ́sìn ọjọ́ Àìkú, Alufa Olúmídé Díyà ṣàlàyé Iwe Àwọn Ọba Kini Ori ketadinlogun, ese kini si ese kerindinlogun, ó sì ràn wá lọ́wọ́ láti lóye bí a ṣe lè fi ara wa sí ipò fún ìpèsè Ọlọ́run. Ó pín àwọn ìlànà wọ̀nyí gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ohun tí a gbọ́dọ̀ ṣe:
- Ni ife ìwàláàyè Ọlọ́run. Máa ní ìbáṣepọ̀ pẹ̀lú àwọn ará nínú ìgbàgbọ́, kí o sì tún ní ìbáṣepọ̀ pẹ̀lú Ọlọ́run fúnra rẹ.
- Gbọ́ràn sí àwọn ìtọ́ni Ọlọ́run. Jẹ́ ẹni tó ní ìmọ̀lára sí oro Rẹ̀. Máa fetí sí i nígbà tí Ó bá ń sọ̀rọ̀ (Sáàmù ori kokanlelaadorun, ese kini), kí o sì tẹ̀lé gbogbo ohun tí Ó bá pàṣẹ.
- Má ṣe jẹ́ kí àìní àkókò díẹ̀ mú ọ rẹ̀wẹ̀sì. Gbogbo ohun lo ní àkókò rẹ̀. Àkókò ìṣòro tàbí àìní lè dé, ṣùgbọ́n má ṣe bẹ̀rù. Ọlọ́run ni Alákóso ayé rẹ, kì í ṣe ipò ọrọ̀ ajé ilẹ̀ ayé. Ìwọ wà lábẹ́ ìjọba ọrọ̀ ajé Ọlọ́run.
- Má ṣe kékeré ẹni tí Ọlọ́run bá lò láti pèsè ìbùkún fún ọ (Sekaráyà ori kerin, ese kewa). Ọlọ́run lè lo ẹnikẹ́ni láti pèsè fún àìní rẹ—àgbà tàbí kékeré, ẹni tí ó ti ní ọkọ tàbí aya tàbí opó. Ki iwo saa ní ọkàn tí ó ṣí sílẹ̀.
- Tú ohun tí ó wà lọ́wọ́ rẹ sílẹ̀. Ó dára láti gba, ṣùgbọ́n ó dára jù lọ láti fúnni.
- Gbà ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run gbọ́. Èṣù pàápàá mọ̀ pé ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run jẹ́ òtítọ́. Ìwọ tí a dá ní àwòrán àti ìfe Rẹ̀ kò yẹ kí o jẹ́ ẹni tí ń ṣiyèméjì nípa àwọn ìlérí Rẹ̀.
Ìpèsè Ọlọ́run wà níbẹ̀ ní gbogbo ìgbà. Ṣé ìwọ náà ti mú ara rẹ sí ipò tó yẹ láti gba á?
Ẹ ya àkókò díẹ̀ sọ́tọ̀ láti tẹ́tí sí ohùn Ọlọ́run níbí, bí Ó ṣe ń sọ̀rọ̀ nípasẹ̀ ọmọ-òjíṣẹ́ Rẹ̀ tí Ó ti fi òróró yàn.
