If Dora or Diego came to mind the moment you saw the word “explore,” we think you have jokes, and we like you. But stay with us for a second.
The same way Dora was always searching for things in hidden locations, Abraham was also on the move searching for a particular location. Except for him, God promised a location and instructed him to look as far as his eyes could see.
During the Youth Week Sunday, we learnt that it was never really about the location.
Our Youth Week Pastor, Pastor Seun Adegboyega, walked us through Gen 12:1-3 and opened our eyes to something bigger than geography. And the theme text, Gen 13:14-18, gives us a picture of God telling Abram to lift his eyes and look in every direction, promising him land and descendants as numerous as the dust of the earth. What God was showing him was not just a physical inheritance. It was a glimpse into something far beyond what the eye could see.
God’s dealings with Abram pointed far beyond Canaan. The promise was not just about land ownership. It was about a generation. It was about a seed that would be scattered across the world. This seed was not Isaac or his descendants. The seed was Jesus Christ (Gal 3:16). And we learn from Gal 3:7 that participation in this covenant is by faith, not ethnicity. Abram was not just relocating. God was relocating his perspective, starting first with the heart.
Heb 11:8-10 shows us that even when Abram arrived in Canaan, the promised land, he still wanted more. Because deep down, he understood that the ultimate promise of God was not about land ownership at all. It was about God bringing man into eternal fellowship with Himself through Christ. Speaking and doing things ahead is consistent with His nature. And because His promises are futuristic, even when you have not yet seen the physical manifestation, He has already done it. The promise is settled before you arrive at it.
And so to explore, in the truest sense, is not to search for a missing thing in a physical location. It is to discover what the Spirit of God can accomplish through you. The depth of your knowledge of Christ is directly tied to your capacity to accomplish. Our growth is dependent on how much of His knowledge we carry and what we do with it.
There is a void in every man that only God can fill. Not love, not success, not a career promotion, not another person. Only God. Anything outside of Him is ultimately a waste of the search. He does not leave us to guesswork. He is explicit, remaining God through it all.
The real exploration is giving yourself to what the Spirit of God can do through you.
Youth Week Sunday was a power-packed experience. The presence of the Lord was palpable, and the word landed in fertile soil. This is an experience we reckon you will not be getting over anytime soon.
So, if you missed service, that is okay. We saved a recap just for you. Click here and get into it.

June 9, 2026so the real exploration is not how much of the world i have seen, but how much i know about God, and what i am able to do with that knowledge in this world He has placed me in.
so profound indeed!
