2026: My Year of Divine Glorification. John 17 vs 5

Supremacy of Christ

Listen to Audio Version:

“Is Jesus God? Why are you calling him so when He identified Himself as the son of God?”

Just maybe once, you’ve come across this line of conversation. If you ever wondered how to respond, Apostle Paul helps out in Colossians 1:15-20.

He opened our eyes to the deity of Christ, revealing Him as the visible image of the invisible God. Christ is the exact personality of God, not a shadow of Him. He’s the word who was with God, who became flesh and dwelt among man (John 1:1,14); the saviour of the whole world.

Jesus existed before any other creation.

“…before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:58). In spite of the Pharisees’ response to this claim, He remained unwavering. It goes beyond His years on earth, beyond the physical reality — it’s in the knowledge of His identity. And for Jesus, this recognition of His identity guided His actions through His years on earth. We’re able to know Him for who He is despite being invisible to the human eye now, because He knew His identity while on earth, and lived in line with His purpose.

This should be the same for you, as well.

This supreme Lord, whose name is efficacious (Phil 2:9-11), who is the fullness of God and the radiance of God’s glory (Hebrews 1:3) dwells on the inside of you. He calls you His masterpiece (Eph. 2:10), His child and His friend. Is this the identity you uphold? The one you align your life with?

If you know these about Jesus, and you know He lives inside of you, why then are you worried about terrestrial forces? The ones He said you’ll trample upon.

Jesus didn’t just create, He sustains. He has the power to sustain everything God created, including you and me. His power knows no diminishing. Therefore, in situations that are critical, you always have the upper hand even when it doesn’t look like it. Because Christ is sufficient to take care of you. He is the only solution to all human problems, visible or invisible.

Just like you would your earthly father if you need anything, come to Him with your problems, He’ll not cast you out (John 6:37). If you’re looking for peace, you’ll only find it in Christ Jesus. Walk with Him in faith, and He’ll respond to you, whenever you call Him.

Perhaps, you’re yet to receive the life of Christ? You have to start here. It’s your first step to overcoming all that’s in your path.

As you share this encouragement with your friends, what’s one piece of advice/ scripture that keeps you grounded in times of uncertainty?
