2026: My Year of Divine Glorification. John 17 vs 5

Holy Communion for Glorification

At the first Holy Communion service of the year 2026, Revd Tunji Bamgbose graced the service with his sermon titled  Holy Communion for Glorification.

He reminded the church of the payment Christ made on the cross for His glory, the church to be part of this glory, and the recognition of our creation in the image of God.

He taught  that the Holy communion is the connectivity and renewal of the glory of God which we have with Christ. We are in the new covenant by which Jesus suffered to present his body so that the relationship which was broken through sin shall be restored. Holy communion is for divine glorification.

Furthermore, the Revd ministered that The last supper was to settle the gap of communication between us and God.

Therefore, he admonished the church to have a prayer life and establish communication with God,  because the name of Jesus is glorified through answered prayers.

In closing, Rev’d Bamgbose emphasised that “a relationship with God is a covenant affair built and established in the name of Jesus. Hence, we should walk blamelessly, diligently and faithfully  with God to be a part of His Divine Glorification through the body of Christ.” (Amos 3:3)
