The World in The Hands of The Loving God

Rev’d Tunji Bamgbose taught the church on The world in the Hands of the Loving God. He tells us about how John, in his books, tells us a lot about God and the fullness of his love. A very popular of his verses which is scripture’s most quoted verse, John 3:16 tells us of God in the persona of a father who loves the world so much. He loves the world so much, way too much that he laid down the life of his only child. The world in this context is neither the flowers nor animals, land nor sky, but the people who live therein. Scripture says in Genesis 6:5 “But Yahweh saw how extremely wicked humanity had become, for they imagined only evil, for all they thought about was doing evil all the time.”(TPT).

Despite this, God’s love for mankind supersedes man’s wickedness. God’s redemption to man’s wickedness is love. And God’s demonstration of love is Jesus Christ, his only begotten. Jesus manifested the love of God by laying down his life for man to experience salvation. Our evidence is Romans 5:8 which says; “But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!”(TPT). God’s love to mankind is an extreme benevolence to the human race. Man was not worthy of God’s love yet he received of it. Not only did Christ die, we received God’s spirit and he made whoever is saved by him, his dwelling place.

Knowing this and understanding the weight of his love. It is important that if he died for us, we should in turn, live for him. We live for God with the life of Christ being our example. Jesus lived without sin. He lived without hatred and condemnation, but compassion for those bounded by sin (John 8:1-11). Salvation is to live the life of Jesus. How much of your life reflects the sacrifice of God for man? How much of your life speaks Jesus to others? When you hear forgiveness, does your mind think of someone you should extend it to? We as Christians should live like we understand how much God loves mankind.

God’s love is deliverance. God’s love is healing. God’s love is life.
